I have the new, New York State "enhanced" drivers license/passport which allows me to drive or ride to Canada or Mexico and I assume Central and South America...

Sounds interesting.  Do you fly commercial or do you use a private jet?

Our closest beach is Puerto Panasco, Mexico, so my family has passports to go to Mexico from time to time.

I actually got my passport originally because I needed it to visit a vendor facility in Juarez, so my company paid for it.

You coudln't drag me kicking and screaming into that city now.

Political correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

I did the same thing- but if you renew it within a relatively short time - you don't have to jump through all the hoops - you can renew it not start from scratch.  I forget what the speficis are.

I have to remember to renew my vehicle registration by Thursday - now they charge you $20 if you're late on that!

You will need a passport to get into Central & South America. They like Americans in South America... it's Mexico that don't like all dem gringos and gringas messing up their beachs...

I think you'll like Ireland.  I'm partial to the west but it's all interesting.  Enjoy the stout.
