Hello, bike is 2005 s50/vs800

Does anyone know what the max km/h or mph for each gear is, since there is no tach.

Trying to get an idea so i can stay off the rev limiter.

Thanks

The VS800/S50 will twist up to 8500 rpm with no problem.
There is no rev limiter.
Shift when you want, I guarantee you will shift before the bike runs out of rpm's.
Drive it like you stole it.

Redline is 47mph in 1st, 65mph in 2nd, 87mph in 3rd, 4th gets to 106mph, and 5th will never reach redline, but it would be nearly 125mph if it could. You'll probably go faster, top end, in 4th, if that's what you want.

You can always add a tach - I have one.

Wow,  I didn't think i I could go that fast in each gear.  Thanks for the info.  I do ride the bike hard so I just wanted to make sure since I never felt a rev limiter.  Now I also know it doesn't have a rev limiter.

It certainly sounds like its revving a lot higher then it is when I'm riding it.

Cheers.

If you can get the vibration out of the bars, it feels a lot smoother; a good carb sync goes a long way in this regard. I pulled a BarSnake into my bars, and put the end weights back in, and it made a huge difference in the vibration in the grips. BTW, it took several tries to get the BarSnake the right length, so the end weights would go back in.

A BarSnake is a piece of flexible polymer, made to be pulled through your handlebars, to stop the bell-like ringing of the bars when excited by engine vibrations. It is also, sometimes, available as a liquid to pour into the bars, then sets up. BarSnake

IMO, it is well worth the price and work to install, at least in the drag bars the S50 has as stock.
